About Masechta Sanhedrin · מסכת סנהדרין
Sanhedrin learns the Jewish courts and their laws - how many judges sit for each kind of case, how they judge, and the punishments of the Torah. It opens with the courts of three for money matters, twenty-three for capital cases, and seventy-one, the Great Sanhedrin, for a whole tribe, a false prophet, a kohen gadol, a war of choice and the borders of Yerushalayim.
It learns the king and the Torah scroll he carries, how judges are chosen, who may not testify or judge, and how witnesses in a capital case are checked and warned: whoever saves one soul is as if he saved a whole world. A capital case may end in acquittal on the day it is heard, but in guilt only on the next day. The middle perakim learn the four deaths of beis din and the sins for which each is given, the ben sorer u'moreh, the one who breaks in, the city led astray, and the false prophet.
The perek Chelek opens 'all Israel have a share in the World to Come' and names those who have none, and its Gemara speaks of techiyas hameisim, the days of Mashiach and the end of days.

Adam was created alone to teach that one who destroys a single soul is as if he destroyed a whole world, and so that no person can say 'my father was greater than yours' - so each person must say 'the world was created for me'; a Jew, even when he has sinned, is still a Jew; whoever teaches his friend's son Torah is as if he made him; Hashem wants the heart; and of Mashiach: 'if they merit, I will hasten it; if they do not, it will come in its time'. Measure for measure: one who denies the resurrection of the dead will have no share in it.

Masechta Sanhedrin in the Daf Yomi
The 14th Daf Yomi cycle learned Masechta Sanhedrin one daf a day for 112 days, from daf 2 to daf 113, from December 19, 2024 to April 9, 2025; the 15th cycle, which opens with Berachos on June 8, 2027, reaches it on May 22, 2032. Masechta Sanhedrin is in Seder Nezikin, the fourth of the six orders of the Mishnah, and in the order of the Daf Yomi it comes after Masechta Bava Basra and before Masechta Makkos.
