About Thank You Hashem

Thank You Hashem is a singer on Lehallel — the filtered YouTube platform. 331+ of his recordings can be watched here, with no ads and no comments.

Thank You Hashem - TYH, "TYH Nation" in its own titles - is a group of singers whose recordings YouTube credits to Farbrengable Studios: Mendy Worch, Afiko.man, Chaim Ghoori, Sruly Green, Moshe Auslander, Sochi Majeski and a boys' choir, the TYH Boys. Its most-watched songs here are Jungle, which Mendy Worch sings with the TYH Boys and whose description tells how it was born at his Rebbe's weekly farbrengen in Borough Park; No Shtus with Avraham Fried; Yidden by Chaim Ghoori and Mendy Worch, on the holy neshama inside every Jew; Can't Stop Won't Stop; Little Bardichevers; Yum Yum with Rabbi Greenspan; and Hatzileini.

Many of the songs carry Yiddish and the words of the siddur: Veiter ("onward"), Tut Altz ("He does everything"), Nekudeh Kedishe ("a holy point"), A Gitteh Nacht, Ein Od Milvado, Min HaMeitzar (Tehillim 118), Ma Rabu (Tehillim 104), Mizmor L'Sodah (Tehillim 100), Shalom Rav from the Amidah, Yismach Moshe from the Shabbos morning prayer, Bichvodo Uv'Atzmo and B'Chol Dor VaDor from the Haggadah, and V'Nahafoch Hu from Megillas Esther. Three are from the Twelve Pesukim: Kol Yisrael with Shloime Gertner, Ki Karov with the TYH Boys and V'Hinei Hashem with Moshe Auslander.

Guests sing beside them, each named with the song: Avraham Fried, Joey Newcomb (Ameilim BaTorah and B'Chol Dor VaDor), Alex Clare (Father, Can You Carry Me), Matisyahu (Back of the Wagon), Meir Green (Kacha Hashem Ratza, "this is how Hashem wanted it"), Eli Skaist with Ari Dobkin, Itzik Dadya, Moshe Storch, the Portnoy Brothers, EKEV and Avi Ganz. The TYH Boys sing the album Little Bardichevers - Stars and Yiddishkeit are from it - and Finish Line and Billionaire; Happy Clappy 2 is another of their albums.

From the stage and the studio there are TYH Live Sessions with Levy Falkowitz and Joey Newcomb, Live Sessions with Mendy, live medleys for Chanukah and a kumzitz, and whole farbrengens: Lag BaOmer, Chai Elul, Yud-Tes Kislev, the Selichos and a Tu BiShvat tish.

Its own descriptions give the thought behind the songs. Chassidus, sung by Mendy Worch, came out of Selichos - from the words Kel Melech yosheiv al kisei rachamim, misnaheg ba'chassidus, that Hashem conducts Himself with chassidus and not by the numbers - and from Chazal's question: who is a chassid? One who does chassidus with his Creator. Eliyahu, with Moshe Auslander, tells the story of the man who asked the Baal Shem Tov how to merit seeing Eliyahu HaNavi. Afiko.man's Happy Birthday Ya brings Rebbe Nachman's teaching that the day a person is born is the day Hashem decided the world could not exist without him. Most of the songs are produced by TYH Music with Mendy Portnoy at Farbrengable Studios, and the Yud-Tes Kislev farbrengen is led by Harav Yussie Zakutinsky, with music by Joey Newcomb. Each song opens on its own page, with no ads and no comments around it.
