About Yerachmiel Begun & The Miami Boys Choir

Yerachmiel Begun & The Miami Boys Choir is a boys choir and its founder on Lehallel — the filtered YouTube platform. 172+ of his recordings can be watched here, with no ads and no comments.

Yerachmiel Begun founded the Miami Boys Choir in 1977 in Miami Beach, Florida, and moved it to New York in 1980, keeping its name. For almost fifty years he has composed and arranged its songs, and boys across the world have grown up singing them; its former members sing today in the Miami Alumni Choir.

Its most-watched song, "Yerushalayim" (Jerusalem), performed in April 2008, has been watched on YouTube more than twelve million times, and it was sung again at Madison Square Garden at the YU graduation of 2023. "Yavo" (he will come) is from the same evening; "Galeh" was sung at the State Theater in New Brunswick; and "We Stand With Israel" (2023), directed, arranged and composed by Yerachmiel Begun with words by Y. and S. Begun, has been watched more than seven hundred thousand times.

Its songs teach in their names: "Henai Ma Tov" (how good it is), sung by the Miami Alumni Choir, "Lo B'ruach Hashem", "Hatov" (the Good One), "Revach" (relief), "Tzur" (Rock), "Esmach" (I will rejoice), "Eich Nashir" (how can we sing), "Kol Yisroel Areivim" (every Jew is responsible for every other), "Esa Einai", "Nekadesh", "Torah U'mitzvos", "Ilu", "Azor Noh", "Kumt Shoin" (come already, in Yiddish) and "Be a Mentsch". In English the choir sings "When the Siyum Calls", "Light Up the Nights" and "Chanukah Nights" for Chanukah, "Listen to Your Neshamah" with Baruch Levine, and "We Turn to You".

Its live evenings have their own place below - the Miami Chupah, the wedding medley, the Oorah Chanukah evening of 2022 and a kumzitz around the piano with Dedi - beside "Bayom Hahu" and "Chasdei Hashem", sung live at the Nassau Coliseum. Each song opens on its own page, with no ads and no comments around it.
