About Gilad Potolsky

Gilad Potolsky is a singer on Lehallel — the filtered YouTube platform. 438+ of his recordings can be watched here, with no ads and no comments.

Gilad Potolsky sings and leads the Shalhevet Orchestra (Tizmoret Shalhevet), and nearly every recording here carries both names. What they sing is the siddur and the Shabbos table: "Shiru LaMelech", "Ma Ashiv LaHashem", "Yedid Nefesh", "Shalom Aleichem", "Acheinu Kol Beis Yisrael", "Tefillah Le'ani", "Hisna'ari", "HaMalach HaGoel", "Lecha Dodi", "Anim Zemiros", "Keil Adon", "Eishes Chayil" and "Mizmor LeDavid". Each song is here once, its most-watched recording, the most-watched first.

"Shiru LaMelech" leads his list with more than half a million YouTube views; "Ma Ashiv LaHashem" has more than 300,000, "Yedid Nefesh" nearly 300,000, and "Shalom Aleichem", "Acheinu", "Tefillah Le'ani" and "Hisna'ari" each more than 200,000. A "Kululam" of "Ma Ashiv" with the children of Neve Yaakov, which he led and arranged for voices, has been watched more than 120,000 times, and "HaTov HaTov HaTov, Ki Lo Chalu Rachamecha" nearly 190,000.

His albums are here whole: "Haneshama Lach" - the soul is Yours - from the first to the ninth, and the four parts of "Zemiros LeShabbos", each an hour or more. Beside them are the nigunim of the courts - the Bobov March, Nigun Krakow, Kah Ribon of Vizhnitz, Napoleon's March of Chabad, Nigun Chaim Dovid "Yamamai" - and the medleys of upbeat songs, of Jerusalem, of Carlebach and of the Broner Brothers. In October 2023 he put out a medley of prayers for a time of war.

The Shalhevet boys' choir (Pirchei Shalhevet) sings its own songs here - "Bnei Beitcha", "Refa'einu", "Ode Hashem", "Hamalach Hagoel" - with the Aviv Boys Choir's Pesach songs. He sings with others too: Michoel Streicher ("Veyizku Lirot Banim"), Yehuda Galili, Shaul Cohen, Tal Shegev, Efi Potolsky ("Hayom Harat Olam") and Mendy Jerufi.

His evenings have a room of their own, most of them from his own "nostalgia" collection: weddings at Hadar Dimol in 1999 and 2000 and at Keter HaRimon in 2009, the Chassidic Song Festival of 2001 at Heichal HaTarbut, a wedding with Mordechai Ben David in 2003, the Teverberg launch concert in London in 2004 with Avraham Fried, the Bein Hazmanim evening of the yeshivos in Tzfas, and the closing kumzitz of the guitar course he teaches. Each song and each evening opens on its own page, with no ads and no comments around it.
