About Moshe Habusha

Moshe Habusha (משה חבושה) is a chazzan on Lehallel — the filtered YouTube platform. 852+ of his recordings can be watched here, with no ads and no comments.

Moshe Habusha is a chazzan who sings the prayers and piyyutim of the Jews of Babylon (Iraq) and of Aleppo (Aram Tzova), and the old nusach of Jerusalem. His recordings here carry whole services in those nusachim - the Mussaf of Rosh Hashanah and the Shacharit of Yom Kippur in the Iraqi nusach - with Selichot, haftarot, Kaddish and Kedushah to the old tunes, and the piyyutim of Rabbi Yisrael Najara and of the book of the songs of Aram Tzova.

He sings the Bakashot, the songs of longing that the Jews of Aleppo sing before dawn on the Shabbat nights of winter: with the Bakashot boys of the Musayof synagogue in the Bukharian Quarter of Jerusalem, at the Har Zion synagogue, and in a recording of him singing them at twelve years old. Among his recordings are Selichot with Maran the Rishon LeZion, Chacham Ovadia Yosef zt"l, in 5769, and Babylonian songs sung before him.

He also teaches: classes for chazzanim on the maqamat, the musical modes the prayers are sung in, and short classes of halacha, mussar and Gemara. Among the interviews with him are a special interview for the Hidabroot channel and one about the night of Yom Kippur at the Kotel.

You can search inside the songs by what was said, play the whole catalog back to back, or follow Moshe Habusha to be told when something new comes in.
