About Mordechai Shapiro

Mordechai Shapiro is a singer on Lehallel — the filtered YouTube platform. 35+ of his recordings can be watched here, with no ads and no comments.

Mordechai Shapiro sings songs of emunah and simcha in Hebrew and English - songs that teach in a few words that Hashem runs the world and that a Jew always has a reason to be happy. Each song is here once, its most-watched recording, with what its name means.

He grew up in Monsey, New York, and sang in the Miami Boys Choir from 1997 to 2003. His debut album, Kol HaDerech, came out when he was 26, with ten songs of its own, and its title song is here - a Yitzy Waldner composition with words by Miriam Israeli.

His best-known songs say it in their names: "Hakol Mishamayim" (everything is from Heaven); "Tamid Yesh Siba" (there is always a reason); "Ein Od Milvado" (there is none but Him); "Kdei Lehodos" (to give thanks); and "Ashira" (I will sing).

Most of his songs are his own compositions, and the words of many of them are by Miriam Israeli - "Hakol Mishamayim", "Machar", "B'Yachad", "Abba", "Ein Od Milvado", "Lecha" and "Friends". He composes with Yitzy Waldner ("Kdei Lehodos", "Friends") and with Mordechai Brezel ("One in a Million"); "Lecha" is Elie Schwab's composition, "Ashira" Elli Spinowitz's, and "Umibaladecha - Only You" was written and composed by Chayala Neuhaus. "Ad D'lo Yada", for Purim, he composed with Gavriel Reichmann, and the words of "Tamid Yesh Siba" are by Shachar Hadar and Meor Shushan. Each song below names who made it, as its own recording does, and the year it came out.

Beside them stand "Machar" (tomorrow), "B'Yachad" (together), "Kol HaDerech" (the whole way), "Lecha" (to You), "Ani Yehudi" (I am a Jew), "Ani Maamin" (I believe), "Abba" (Father), "Kivinu" and "Achas"; for the Yamim Tovim, "Vehi She'amda" from the Haggadah, "Ad D'lo Yada" for Purim, and a song for Elul; and "Schar Mitzvah", on the words of Pirkei Avos that the reward of a mitzvah is another mitzvah.

In English he sings "Friends", "One in a Million" and "Nothing in Your Life". His full evening live at Camp Morasha - the Yachad summer's 20th anniversary concert, on July 4, 2019, with Krohma Music and directed by Nochi Krohn - has its own place below. Each song opens on its own page, with no ads and no comments around it.
