With our shamash baruch, we begin maseches chullin. Maseches chullin is part of seder kodashim. Right? So, the rebbe in a sicha where the rebbe said a hadran on the maseches, the rebbe explained why is chullin part of seder kodashim? It's because we learn about the halachos of the korbanos on all levels. But chullin, the word in this maseches is going to be discussing all the halachos that are relevant for shechting an animal to eat. Not only shechita, actually it's going to talk about shechita, basar b'chalav, and all all the halachos of gid hanasheh, the forbidden fats, and everything that's relevant to know for eating basar for a person, mundane use. So, where does this come into the seder of kodashim? So, the point the rebbe says is that chassidus it tells us that shechita ain b'shochat elo umashach. Shechita is to elevate. You slaughter the animal really without the fact that we're elevating the animal, there should be an issue of tza'ar ba'alei chaim. You're causing pain to the animal. The only reason why the shechita is allowed is because a person shechts and he takes the animal in its existence as a uh chai, and he elevates it to the level of medaber, human being. And so, therefore, this concept to elevate [clears throat] the animal is an inyan of kodashim. It's an avodah to bring the animal up to a higher level into the human being that's going to utilize it to learn, to daven, and so on. There's a story that says said of chassidim that were sitting at night >> [laughter] >> and farbrenging, and they ran out of food.
