We begin a new mesechta today, mesechta Beitzah, or as it's referred to in mesechta Beiah, or in the Rishonim actually, many Rishonim it's referred to as mesechta Yom Tov, because that's the subject of this mesechta. It discusses all the details of Hilchos Yom Tov, which in many ways is similar to Shabbos. We have the the 39 melachos and the 39 melachos, but in other ways it has a lot of its own rules. When it comes to Yom Tov, the basic and general difference between Shabbos and Yom Tov is the fact that Shabbos and Yom Tov is the fact that oichel nefesh, any melacha that you're doing for the purpose of preparing food is muttar. Start the Mishnah. Beitzah she'nolda b'Yom Tov. An egg that's born on Yom Tov. So, Beis Shammai oimrim, Beis Shammai say, "Taichel." You're allowed to eat this egg.
