We'll begin today at the Mishnah on daf tzadik vav. The Mishnah in the middle of the amud. Zok the holy Mishnah. You have to remove the entire gid ha'nosheh, which means according to the Tanna Kamma, which is Rab Meir, you have to remove the gid ha'nosheh deeper in, even the parts of the gid ha'nosheh that goes into the flesh of the animal in the thigh. It's not enough just to remove the gid ha'nosheh that's on the top of the flesh. Rabbi Yehudah imer, Rabbi Yehudah says, "K'dei l'kayem mitzvas netilah, you have to remove enough of the gid ha'nosheh to fulfill the mitzvah of removing the gid, which is on the top, but to go inside the gid as it extends into the flesh of the animal, that's not necessary." This is a machlokes that was brought before on daf tzadik beis between Rab Meir and Rabbi Yehudah, and over there the lashon is chatitah. Chatitah means when you have to go in into the basar itself and identify the sinews of the gid ha'nosheh and take it out from the flesh. That's the Tanna Kamma, Rab Meir. Rabbi Yehudah says, "No, you have to take the gid ha'nosheh off of the from what's on the top of the basar." Ha'ochel migid ha'nosheh k'zayis, if one eats from the gid ha'nosheh the amount of a k'zayis, chaif arba'im.
