What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Oster Gemara Shiur’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

We begin today on the bottom of daf yomi base. The Gemara is discussing the drasha that it learned out from what it says by the law of bal ta'acher. The last words in that pasuk, it said "v'hayah b'chochech." And it learned out from there that you have an aveira for delaying the korban. But the actual korban itself is going to be kosher. B'chol, you it's an aveira, but the korban itself is kosher. So the Gemara now is going to ask that the chochech this concept is already learned out from a different place. Like the Gemara, "V'akati maybe Ben Azai the Gemara, "V'akati maybe Ben Azai nafka." This idea that this korban that you delayed is still kosher is learned out from this drasha that Ben Azai learned out. Tanya, it says in the pasuk, "Ben Azai omeir." The braisa says, "Ben Azai omeir, osei." This is the word osei says by pigul. That when you have a korban of pigul, so the verse says that "lo yiratzah hamakriv osei." So what do you learn from here? Why does it add the word osei? So this is a miut. "Mah tamud leima?" Why does it say this word? "Defeisha ne'emar leisa acher word? "Defeisha ne'emar leisa acher leishalma." Because there's in another place it says that don't delay bringing your korban. So shemei'ani, I would think "af macha nidrei b'val yiratzah." When a person brings it late, so then the korban should not be accepted. Similar to pigul where the Torah says "lo yiratzah." Tamud leima "osei." Which means "osei v'lo yiratzah." Only by pigul is the korban pasul. "V'eimacha nidrei b'val yiratzah." But if you're delaying your korban, so it's not going to be lo yiratzah. The
