all right we're going to get started thank you everyone so much for joining us tonight my name is Tamar Brooks I'm a second year medical student at turcom and I'm a member of jma's mental health committee I'm very excited tonight to introduce tonight's speaker Dr Sarah babad Dr babad is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with children adolescence and young adults clinically she treats a range of disorders with an emphasis on anxiety OCD and Related Disorders and Trauma she OCD and Related Disorders and Trauma she has specialized training in dialectical behavioral therapy and exposure based interventions she currently works at northwell Health Zucker Hillside Hospital Child and Adolescent outpatient Psychiatry Department um just as a reminder to everyone who's here tonight there is a question box um on your bottom of your screen that will be open throughout the talk tonight so you can submit questions and we will try to address them all to the best of our abilities so thank you again Dr rad for speaking with us again Dr rad for speaking with us tonight thank you Tomar it is a pleasure to be here um I'm gonna get started by sharing my screen um so the title of tonight's talk is is this trauma helping your child cope with stressful life events and when to seek professional help um this talk could be hours long but we're going to try to condense it um into a reasonable amount of time but if it seems like I'm moving quickly it's because I am um and hopefully Q&A at the end will give folks a chance to follow up with any questions they might have um just some quick
