okay thank you everyone for coming to tonight's Grand rounds with Dr Siegel if anyone has any questions at all throughout the talk please just type them into the Q a box at the bottom of your screens and then we'll get to them at the end now I'd just like to introduce our speaker for tonight Dr Voris Siegel grew up in Brooklyn New York she attended Brooklyn College and Mount Sinai Medical School where she earned her medical degree and a PhD in Neuroscience she then completed a residency in child neurology at Rutgers New Jersey medical school and a fellowship in Pediatric neuro-oncology at NYU Dr Siegel practiced General child neurology and neurogenetics and wild Cornell for several years and she was the director of the child neurology Residency program during that time she is now at NYU where she practices Pediatric neuro-oncology and is the associate director of the comprehensive neurofibromatosis Center at NYU Dr Siegel is the principal investigator or co-investigator of several clinical trials in neurogenetics and Pediatric neuro-oncology so take it away Dr Siegel all right thank you so I apologize in advance for my voice of course this morning I started to lose lose my voice so again I'm sorry but I'm going to be talking today about a very common pediatric problem which is children with headaches um it's geared mostly towards people in the medical profession but hopefully parents uh will be able to gain something from it as well and my subtitle is reassure image or refer because when a child with a headache comes to their pediatrician or their parents are worried about it the question is always is this just something benign that we don't have to worry about do they need to see a specialist do they need an MRI those are questions that I I get all the time so
