okay good evening everybody my name is mira kamen astro it is my pleasure to welcome you to tonight's grand rounds from joma um we are lucky enough to have dr xenia aaron coordinate this talk the talk is called when a medical urgency becomes a surgical emergency it is our first surgery grand rounds and i am very excited to be the moderator this is a very informative talk both for primary care doctors as well as anybody else who is interested in the surgical field of medicine um our first speaker is dr toba is um dr tova israel is a board certified alarm biologist currently practicing in nyu langone long island which is uh for us those of us who remember it as a winthrop university hospital she's originally from brooklyn she received her medical degree from the albert einstein cultural medicine in 2009 and completed her residency in ent and had neck surgery at the new york iron ear infirmary in 2014 she then completed her fellowship in laryngology and voice disorders at mount sinai hospital in 2015 and soon thereafter settled in the idyllic community of west hampstead online island where she still resides she divides her time between her boston practice in mineola long island and spends time at home with her well intending um her culturalistic i apologize husband and three very energetic brunette children um without further ado dr toba fisher is her off let me just find the proper screen to share and um okay thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this grand rounds uh just one second since i'm really not so amazing with zoom i don't want my little picture screen to block how i can see my slide so um anyway tonight the topic that i'm going to talk about is when shortness of breath is a surgical emergency um i
