hi welcome to the joma preventative health podcast i'm your host alisa minkin i'm a general pediatrician and the co-chair of the joma jewish orthodox women's medical association preventive health podcast and i'm really excited and really honored to be here to get today with dr margot and i i'm not trying to have a pronunciation it's close tinaman tina man i meant to ask before dr margot tienemann beautiful name um hi thank you so much for joining me you're welcome dr taina min is a you're welcome dr taina min is a co-founder and director of psychiatric services at the immune behavioral health pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome also known as pandas or pans i should actually differentiate pans which is the pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome from what people are more familiar with the term pandas which i think actually stands a little differently for pediatric autoimmune neurodevelopmental disorders associated with strep which was the original diagnosis it's clear why we have uh diagnosis it's clear why we have uh acronyms yes right people are used to pandas that's why i don't i want to say this but i also want to say we're going to be talking about pandas and pans we're going to i'm going to let you get into that in just a minute i want to give the rest of your um really impressive bio and story the clinic is the first hands clinic in the country dr tyneman is an author and contributor to many pants publications including the pan's consensus treatment guidelines and pan's clinical management of pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome part 1 psychiatric and behavioral
