My name is Alisa Minkin, I am a general pediatrician, I'm co-chair of the JOWMA Jewish Orthodox Women's Medical Association"s Preventative Health Committee and I am so so excited to be here today with Dr. Michael Osterholm. Hi! - [Dr. Osterholm] Good morning - [Dr. Minkin] Thank you so much! I'm going to say a little bit about you. Dr. Osterholm is the Director of CIDRAP: The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy. He's also the Chair of Public Health and a professor at the University of Minnesota. He's an internationally recognized expert in epidemiology, public health and pandemic preparedness with a distinguished career spanning over 45 years. He's the author of two New York Times best-selling books-the latest is: "Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs" and he has a weekly podcast on Covid-19 related topics where he gives straight talk on Covid-19, which is amazing! And Mazel Tov on being appointed to the President-elect Joe Biden's 13-member transition Covid-19 Advisory Board. - [Dr. Osterholm] Thank you. It's good to be with you. I appreciate it, I appreciate your outreach that you're doing. This is critical; we all are trying to contribute in our own ways so congratulations to you and thank you. - [Dr Minkin] Thank you, thank you. I feel like one thing we can say is: we are all sick of Covid We all agree we're sick of Covid. But we don't agree on everything else about Covid. So I have some things I've heard people say and I'd love to hear your thoughts on them and I'll start with "Yes, we have lots more Covid, BUT it's not the same disease, it's milder." - [Dr. Osterholm] Well first of all what we have to look at is in terms of when we say we have more or less Covid
