all right hi everyone my name is efra some of you know me from the pre-med chat and this is our second webinar where we'll be talking about building your application and your personal statement i'm really excited that we have two amazing medical students with us joining us co-hosting this with me brenda newman and eliana siegel um who are going to introduce themselves share a little tidbit about their application what their theme was um yeah and then we'll start eliana if um yeah and then we'll start eliana if you want to introduce yourself sure hi guys i'm eliana i'm a fourth year medical student at rutgers njms which is the rutgers campus in newark there are actually two rutgers medical schools for those of you who don't know so it can get a little confusing um and i'm applying i just had my last interview this week for pediatrics residencies i grew up in teaneck new jersey um went to columbia university for um went to columbia university for undergrad um majored in neuroscience and i'm trying and i actually didn't take a gap year i went straight through which is why some of you heard i had to cram for my mcat right after finals which was not something i would recommend doing um and i'm trying to think if i really had a theme for my application i don't i didn't purposely have one um i really just
