hi my name is dr elisa minkin i'm a general pediatrician and i'm also chair of the jewish orthodox women's medical association preventative health podcast and i'm really excited to be here today with devorah levinson hi devorah hi there hi devorah is a referral specialist and the director of eating disorders division at relief resources a free mental health referral service that caters to the needs of the orthodox jewish community she has a strong background in communal work in both the united states and abroad her role at relief is to provide mental health referrals and information to families and patients and she serves as a conduit to appropriate and effective care her work consists of researching new clinicians facilities and treatment options as well as promoting cultural sensitivity to clinicians who have little or no experience with orthodox jewish patients she has presented on the topics of mental health and eating disorders in the jewish community at schools and hospitals in the tri-state area she has also been involved with the national eating disorder association and has a strong focus in eating disorder prevention which is what i want to focus on today thank you so much for joining me devorah
