hi my name is elisa minkin i'm a general pediatrician i'm also the chair of the jewish orthodox women's medical association preventative health committee and i'm really excited to be here today with dr divorcigo hi hi i'm excited to be here too yes so i'm really excited because this is a personally important topic to me and i'm going to say right from the get-go that we have three people in this interview we have you as a neurologist i'm going to introduce you in just a minute and we have me as i said i'm a pediatrician and i've also said i'm a pediatrician and i've also said in multiple podcasts i am also the mother of a young adult on the autism spectrum and so we have going to have three viewpoints hopefully weaved into this that of the neurologist the pediatrician and the mother okay so i'm going to introduce you in my usual dorky way dr devorah siegel is a pediatric neurologist at nyu langone health dr siegel received her ba in chemistry at brooklyn college city university of new york she then earned her medical degree and a phd in neuroscience at icann mount sinai school of medicine she mount sinai school of medicine she completed her pediatrics and pediatric neurology training at rutgers new jersey medical school and then completed a fellowship in pediatric neuro-oncology at nyu langone medical center she spent several years on faculty at the weill cornell where she practiced general child neurology providing inpatient and outpatient care with a subspecialty in neurogenetics she is now a faculty member at nyu langone where she specializes in treating neurofibromatosis and pediatric neuro-oncology so wow that is super impressive
