Rosh Chodesh Elul Could you imagine? Where did the year go? It was like yesterday was Rosh Hashanah and Kippur. The year just vanished. And here we are again with the great blast of the shofar ahead of us. The 30-day countdown to Yom Hadin the 40-day countdown to Yom Kippurim. And you know, like the rabbis say, that before the wedding Did you ever show up to a wedding hall like 5:00 in the afternoon before a big wedding that night? You walked into the hall, you know what you hear? The shuffling, the rustling, the moving of the tables, the moving around of the chairs, a few glasses cracking here and there because the waiters and the waitresses weren't that careful. There's a lot of rush. There's a lot of noise going on in the preparation of the big event. Elul, you got to make noise. You got to show that you're preparing for the big event. In 30 days, God is coming. And they're announcing Boreh Olam is coming. Hamelech Hakadosh Hamelech Hamishpat Elul is not just another Rosh Chodesh. Elul is not Chodesh Tov. Elul is a Chodesh away. We're one Chodesh away. It's an alarm. And the siren just went off. Tomorrow morning is the first Selichot. Tonight, some people already start the first Selichot on chatzot. Just to kick off and demonstrate that they're getting ready. We need to show body alarm. That Elul is real.
