Hi, welcome to the Jewish Orthodox Women's Medical Association or JOWMA podcast. I'm your host, Alyssa Minken. I'm a general pediatrician and I'm also the co-chair of the Preventative Health Committee. And I'm really honored and really excited to be here with Dr. David Gorski. Thank you so much for joining me. Well, thanks for inviting me. Dr. Gorski is surgical oncologist at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, specializing in breast cancer and a professor of surgery at the Wayne State professor of surgery at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He attended the University of Michigan, where he received a medical degree in 1988, same year as me. In 1989, he entered a residency in general surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, took a break to get a PhD in cellular physiology at the Case Western Reserve University, which he completed in 1994, went back to a surgical residency, which he completed in 1996, and completed a surgical oncology research fellowship which in 1999 at the research fellowship which in 1999 at the University of Chicago. He is the author of a blog called Respectful Insolence and the managing editor of the website Science-Based Medicine, which are both science skeptic sites, which we'll get to. He has been writing about vaccine misinformation and other pseudoscience topics since 2004 and prior to that, he fought Holocaust denialism. So, I just want to take a second. It's a really challenging time for the Jewish people right now. We're having a lot of anti-Semitic flares. It's really scary. And so, you're not Jewish, correct?
