hi welcome to the joma jewish orthodox women's medical association podcast i'm your host elisa minkin i'm a general pediatrician and proud member of joma and i'm honored and excited to be here today with leon foreman hi hi how are you good thank you for being here and doing this with me thank you leon is a corporate and employment lawyer by training she is the executive director of a new organization called communities confronting substance abuse or ccsa the organization substance abuse or ccsa the organization she and her husband etiel my parents etl founded in 2018 through their own family struggles they founded ccsa to create greater community awareness and education about substance misuse and addiction in the jewish community ccsa's mission is to eliminate stigma around addiction in jewish communities through awareness events and facilitating evidence-based educational programming in schools for of um addiction medicine rabbi tiffy gluck is there um just the whole range it's super impressive thank you so how did you get started in this um not by choice kind of by life experience and and adversity um when we have five children ilana is our second oldest she is the one who is now in recovery from substance addiction um her journey and our journey as a family really began just before high school she was in
