With only a few days away of the great day Matan Torah Shavuot Rabotai, let's just get something really clear. As we've said so many times, the hagim of Klal Yisrael are not commemorations. When we go through our holidays, they are not to commemorate something that took place in the past. Our hagim is to relive an event again this year from what started and happened so many good years ago. And therefore, on Vav Sivan, just like originally, Matan Torah, we're going to be zocheh be'ezrat Hashem again this coming year on the night of Shavuot to a new Matan Torah again. And therefore, we got to prepare. We got to get ready. Just like the original Matan Torah, there was shloshet yemei hagbalah. There were three days of preparation. So too, when it comes to every single year Shavuot Matan Torah, it isn't a hag you just show up to. It's a hag you got to prepare for. And in truth, the Chinuch, he writes that that was the reason why we have Sefirat HaOmer. The Sefirat HaOmer countdown between Pesach and Shavuot was to give us the opportunity to do just that. To count down. To long for, to await. To literally build up a certain yearning that something great is coming and it's worth the countdown. And I'm counting down to the great moment of this year's Matan Torah, this year's Shavuot. This year I'm going to be mekabel Torah even greater than ever before. And therefore, I need a Sefirat HaOmer. It's not a hag you walk into. It's a huggy you count down to. So says the Hinuch.
