[music] Hi friends and welcome to 1840 where each month we explore a different topic balancing modern sensibilities with traditional sensitivities to give you new approaches [music] to timeless Jewish ideas. I'm your host David Bishkin and today we are exploring the honor of Dena's father William Bagner on the occasion of his 10th art site on Kuff of Mr. Bogner was deeply devoted to Torah and learning. Be it daffomi, Torah tapes, a shir, a new safer, a biography or a new gudal. He was always looking to grow in his learning and avodas hashem. He was a living example of studying Torah every single day until his last. May the Torah learn through the episode be an aliyah for his nishama. And man, would he have loved 1840. Uh I am so who's coming. His book is called Amuna and Physics, a Jewish resolve. Uh it is a a young very pious sweet physicist. This is somebody you'll see immediately, the sweetest soul in the world, who wrote a really incredible book trying to work on first principles to address all of the questions that people have about faith, about religious thought while still cohering with the modern world and the principles of science that we live with. Why was I nervous about this episode? So on 1840, we used to do this a lot more and it's something I like to come back to. I I I really like trying to justify and explore religion on first principles. The idea of taking a blank slate and say, can you give me the arguments, the mindset, the persuade me on first principles to believe in God.
