here we go all right so this week we the timing works out very well for a number of different events coinciding i'm gonna bring up the powerpoint so if anyone is following the news so this week at cpac the world was uh was i don't know what the right word to use is but had the opportunity to use is but had the opportunity to witness this the the golden statue of donald trump which got a lot of attention and people don't even realize the amazing timing of this because there were many uh comparisons made between the the golden donald trump and the golden calf and little does the world realize that the golden calf is actually discussed in this week's torah portion so the timing is great timing is great um and uh the truth is that it's very relevant to our topic of what happened at sinai because that happened at sinai meaning you would think the major question actually somebody asked it in one of our first classes which was that if uh if the jewish we've spoken so much about the amazing revelation the amazing experience of sinai the whole nation experienced of sinai the whole nation experienced prophecy and somehow just 40 days later that's all it was 40 days after the greg event of sinai they're still at siangi they're still camped around the mountain and somehow the the events of the golden calf unfold and it's just uh a wonderment how such a thing could happen and what we're going to hopefully talk about now is different approaches to understand what did happen how could it have
