[Music] good evening welcome today we are learning parashat bo this is um the the third parsha in sephir in exodus last week we learned in that paro is being tested with tan makote and seven of them were in parashat all for the sake of the jewish people so that the jewish people can realize be aware that hashem exists that he's in control and that he loves them and he fulfills his promises to the forefathers because after 210 years of slavery in egypt they may have forgotten about hashem and perhaps they gave up that hashem will ever redeem them so now hashem has to retrain them that they should be devoted to hashem like our forefathers and the second reason why hashem is performing these great miracles even though he can just smash uh the egyptians or he can change paro's mind and take them out easily hashem is not doing it so that the nations of the world and egyptians in particular should also be aware of the existence of hashem and in fact it did have a tremendous effect on them because when the jewish people left egypt multitudes of converts came with them as the the torah says imam that even together with the jewish people the three million jews that came out of egypt there were and the torah doesn't give the number but it was a huge number of converts majority of them were egyptians but there were converts from many other nations as well why because they saw the miracles and they were convinced that god exists that god is the ultimate true power in the world and that he is still in control and that he loves the jewish people so they decided to join the jews
