[Music] today I want to discuss we I discussed with you last time the a barbanel uh and today I want to discuss uh so to speak the Fallout of uh what happened gorad of the Jews being expelled from Spain its effect on both the sarim and on the the sarim and on the ashkenazim because it had a profound effect I would say that until the Holocaust until World War II after theeni I mean after the destruction of the second temple the two main cataclysmic terrible events in Jewish history that occurred would be the expulsion of the Jews from Spain andat the destruction of Eastern andat the destruction of Eastern European jewy in 1648 and 1649 in terms of numbers and in terms of the effect now we're talking about a time of constant persecution you know like pums but that's like the regular you know like we get used to the inada so that you know a few bombs a day mortars and Gaza and all of these things so we're accustomed to it so it really doesn't you so it really doesn't you know five years ago or 10 years ago or 20 years ago it may have shocked us today when you're accustomed to it so it doesn't have that effect so the pgrs didn't have that effect either they don't have a a cat cataclysmic effect on the Jewish people no one says the world is coming to an end because uh the uh the the Christians make a pgum in Easter or on Good Friday but these two events are so large
