I want to at the outset uh mention the fact that uh someone pointed out to me uh in my description of rebel yitzuk of bardichev. I left the impression that rebel yitsuk was driven out of bardich. He was driven out of three rabbitic positions before bardich because of the fact that he was aided and the msnagdim conspired against him. But in Bardich he found a home. Uh he never was driven out. He remained there uh for the out. He remained there uh for the balance of his life. And that in fact in Bardich after his death uh he was so highly respected that the community never took another rabbi officially. They had an avdon, they had someone to etc. But there never was another rabbi in Bardich after. Uh tonight's topic is uh one of the most fascinating, interesting, different people in Jewish history. uh really an unlikely uh canderim uh really an unlikely uh canderim in Poland and that's Rabbi Simbunim Banihart uh who was born in 1765 to a great Misnagdic family and his father uh was a well-known Talm uh he was a great ortor and therefore he was one of the leading midin in northern Poland and he was well known to all the great Rabon.
