[Music] good morning welcome back today we are learning parashat noah we're using art school homach and we are on page 31. last week we read about the creation of the world and creation of the first man and woman and their their their mistake and um as a result of their mistake now they will be mortal and because of that they need to have children so that humanity can continue and humanity can continue and we went through the the 10 generations between adam and noah we said that by that time people became sinful and god said i will limit their lifetime to 120 years until then they lived up to a thousand years so after hashem up to a thousand years so after hashem said i'm going to limit their lifetime to 120 years hashem said that's only going to start after i destroy all the people that are currently alive i'm going to save just noah and his children with their wives and i will give humanity another chance and um midrash tells us that actually hashem gave many chances to humanity humanity just starting with adam he told him not to eat and he didn't listen hashem said you're gonna die but then hashem was merciful and gave him a thousand years to live then um killed heaven he was supposed to be killed hashem said i'm gonna give you seven generations and all his descendants were not going on on the right path adam had a third son shet from whom we came from and hashem tested them for 10 generations hashem tested them for 10 generations somewhere in between midrash says that there was a big flood that flooded one third of the world as a warning and one third of humanity died they continued on a bad path so hashem said the entire humanity will die and
