Um so this para has the ten commandments and also it contains the visit of Mosher Rabenu's father-in-law whose name is Zitro. Now question is asked if this para is all about the giving of the Torah and the Torah was given by Mosher Abenu. This was his the this was Mosher Abenu. This was his the this was the greatest moment of his career. Why is this para not called parat Moshe? Quite simply and you see you even have Mosherenu's name in the first. That's the second time. So you can see Mosheu's name is mentioned twice. Why isn't this paras mentioned twice. Why isn't this paras called paras Moshe? Surely it should be a tribute to him. So I'm going to give you an answer uh in a minute but I'm going to first mention the second puk. We we are now mentioning how Yro who was Mosher's father-in-law how Yro who was Mosher's father-in-law came from his comfortable penthouse in Midian and he left to go into the desert to go and see his son-in-law Moshe. Okay, so already we're mystified why this para is called Yro and not Moshe. And now we talk about how Yikro comes to Moshe in the desert. And the third compounds uh the mystery but
