okay i'm gonna mute everybody feel free to unmute so being that we are between pesach and shavuos now so it would make sense to talk about the omer the omer is clearly a bridge between pesach and i thought in learning a bit more about it we'll see get a little bit deeper into how how it really that period of time connects the two so the mitzvah the mitzvah there is a mitzvah there is a commandment to count the omer um i think according to most nowadays it only applies um rabbinically um but uh but it still applies and uh and we do we count the omer each each night um so it says in the torah in parashas amor this is in the first the first source it says speak to the children of israel and say to them when you come to the land which to them when you come to the land which i am giving you and you reap its harvest you shall bring to the cohen and omer of the beginning of your reaping so that's obviously not talking about counting it doesn't say anything about counting the omer was actually an offering the omer um is a offering from barley that was brought in the temple in the basamektas and it was brought on the second day of pesach this verse doesn't uh it's not over here but there's another verse that says
