all right good evening welcome back so thank you for joining us again this is our second class of the series of in their footsteps we are tracing the lives of our patriarchs and matriarchs and trying to derive some life lessons last week we focused much on abraham avraham's sort of intuitive sense of what what to do in life what's right his his intuitive ability to discover god on his own despite everything that was going on around him and uh and we we we kind of ended off with this very profound idea that he spent so much of his life um pursuing his mission of spreading the word of god even before he had ever received a prophecy from god and so all that was just nobody had told him what to do it was just what he felt was the right thing to just what he felt was the right thing to do and uh and then he finally god appears to him and gives him an instruction like it's the first time that he's been told what to do up till now it's always i just do what i think is right and now he's being told what to do and that was part of his first test or what may have been the first test depending on how you count them to try to balance this and do something not because he only felt it was right but because god had told him to do it and of course that's going to eventually take us to
