This was a call from a father who was reaching out to me in the hopes that I could answer the question, "How do we know Judaism is true? How do we know that this is real?" It was a foundational question that most Jews honestly don't ask and for good reason. But certainly Jews who have been given a Jewish education generally take for granted the world that they have been raised in. We embrace the circumstances of our own lives. Very rarely do people kind of start life with a tableau raza like a blank slate. That's a Latin term like a blank slate. That's a Latin term as a blank slate trying to justify all their views trying to understand well what kind of country should I live in? Should I live in a capitalist society? Should I live in a more socialist society? Should I live in the mountain tops, in the forests? What job should I get? You know, and you list every single job possible. No, we usually approach our lives and we take for granted. We have what's called bounded rationality. We are not trying to figure out everything in our lives from a blank slate. It is, in my opinion, impossible
