all right so today continuing uh to share some perspectives about PM PM in perspective class number two and uh today I want to deal with the following question what in the world is the deal what is the deal with the name p Ah why would we call this holiday purm now what is purm so uh auror is a lot and puim is purm so uh auror is a lot and puim are lots plural um so we may deal with why it's in the plural it's not really going to be our Focus as much as why we would name a holiday after Lots so where does it actually come from um it actually comes from the Milla itself so in chapter nine of the Milla Milla sester so just read a couple of verses leading up to the the verse that uh that actually the the verse that uh that actually makes reference to the name but it says that this is on this that ham who was the enemy of the Jews he he had a plot to destroy the Jews he he peel poor and he cast a poor a lot or Lots who which by the way is a goal is is a lottery um poor seems to be a uh is a lottery um poor seems to be a uh Aramaic or Persian word and gor would be the Hebrew to terrify them and Destroy them they translate here okay and then it says and when she came before the king he commanded through that the plan that H had devised against the Jews should go back on his own
