Okay, so para illuminated for paras and I hope to get through four different ideas today. So, uh, we're going to get right into it. And then it goes on to discuss the laws relating to the yas to the captive uh woman. But that's not going to be our focus. I just want to bring out one question on this opening verse which is raised by Mosha Sternbach in Tambas and he points out that it says in the singular when you singular go out on your enemies. So it's one person on your enemies. So it's one person battling enemies. Now that's not usually how a war goes. Usually there is a nation. In this case we're talking about the Jewish nation going out to battle. It should say ketu when they go out. Or if it wants to speak in the singular like it speak in the singular and say when you singular go out against your enemy singular. Why does it say in the singular when you go out singular against your enemies in the plural? So against your enemies in the plural? So offers two ideas in a certain sense. They're almost uh opposite but uh both bear with them important lessons. The first is that what it's teaching you is that a person when he's part of a part of a battle, part of a war, um he's a soldier, so he can't say, "Well, we're an entire company and uh what I do doesn't really
