You have just completed an absolutely fascinating study that has so much relevance to the work that we've been doing on 1840 and so much relevance to the wider Jewish community. Dr. Dr. Mosha Kowski, thank you so much for joining us today. My you so much for joining us today. My pleasure. So, I want to begin by talking about this study. The study uses an interesting word that not everybody may be familiar with and that studies attrition within the Jewish community. Can you explain just like the basic word? I'm accused very often of using words that not everybody knows. And the second accusation, they're usually happening at the same time that I'm also mispronouncing the words. So, I believe I'm pronouncing that correctly. Attrition. What is attrition? And what was the central focus of this study? was the central focus of this study? Right. Yeah, that's the problem. When you read too much, you don't hear exactly. I pronounced it AI instead of arai. Oh my gosh, my daughter did that. It's uh literally within the last few months, we corrected her. Yeah. So, yes, this is uh Yeah, that's the problem. When you read when you learn how to Yeah. from reading and not from Exactly. Right. Attrition just means uh uh losing losing some number of of in this case people. Uh so um people who grow up orthodox and leave
