[Music] good evening good evening today we are learning parashat shemot this is the the first parsha in the new sephir shimod exodus so um we are using our scroll homage and we are on page 293. last week the the torah portion told us that the jewish people came to egypt and members of yaakov's family are listed and this week again they are listed but this time only the um the 12 tribes and um commentators ask why list the tribes again haven't we heard their names many times in sephir bereshit and just few lines above in their above in their names are listed as well as their children and some of their grandchildren are listed and the rashi encoding the the midrash says that jewish people can compare two stars and just like stars each one has its own position in the sky each one has its name um each one is huge and precious so to each jew is like a star a whole star a whole system a whole solar system a whole system a whole solar system every jew with uh just like in joseph's dream the the father and the mother are compared to the sun and the moon and the children compared to the the planets so just like every star has its name and uh and place so too hashem considers every jew precious and important and therefore he loves to count them we see that hashem counts the jewish
