Okay, I want to share with you an experience that I had about I think it was about 20 years ago. I was at a gateway seminar for Russashana in New York and there was an Israeli there and he said to me, "You know, don't you, Rabbi, that biblical Judaism doesn't know anything about life after death." You know that all the promises for living up to the Torah and all of the threats for failing to live up to the Torah are this worldly promises. You promise peace and you promise productivity. You promise a good land and health. On the other hand, you promise war and famine and sickness. Biblical Judaism is an are entirely this worldly religion. But you had a problem, says this Israeli, because the Christians invented the afterlife. Now you're in competition for uh membership. You're selling good crops and they're selling eternal life. Your product is outclassed. You know, you're just not going to be able to sell. So you imitated them and took for yourself also the idea of an afterlife which in terms of classical Judaism is simply not not a Jewish idea. That's what he said. Now since it's Israeli get this to him Israeli I took out and I said let's read some verses together because we're going to read it in the Hebrew.
