Forcing Ourselves to Create Balance in Our Life

Rabbi Mordechai Salfer

What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Mordechai Salfer’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

you know the people that have diabetes it means that their blood sugars are not able to be level that's right can't be balanced and they're not able to basically all right and what happens when it's not balanced what happens if a person's not balanced they've all right like let's say you were holding a were holding a uh let's start off with a 50 pound weight on one side of your body you'd be like this and then if it would be a hundred pound weight you'd be like this and it would be like a 500 pound weight you'd be on the ground that's what happens you're just out of balance and if it's too much it just pulls you down now i mean i'm not going to tell you you can handle 500 pound weight on your shoulders if it would be both shoulders but for sure on one side it's too much but for sure on one side it's too much for sure to stay balanced you fall same thing some person let's say doesn't really take care of their blood sugar doesn't take care of their you know watching to stay in balance and the same thing with somebody who's like let's say eating unhealthy eating too much things that are causing them high cholesterol or a person doesn't exercise and then gets and then soon they just they're not healthy and it gets worse it they're not healthy and it gets worse it affects their heart you go on same thing we can go through every part of your life at a certain point just catches up with you and just takes the person down to the ground they're just done the neck they just can't handle it they're out of balance you know the word shalom means what peace can mean goodbye
