Good morning. Today is Monday, August 18th, 2025. I knew Rabbi Barl Wine, who passed away this past Shabas for most of my life. He was close friends with my grandfather. He came often to speak in Memphis. And a number of years ago, we became related through marriage. Rabbi Juan was born in Chicago. He became a lawyer. In 1964, he left Chicago to become the rabbi of Beth Israel congregation in Miami Beach and he served there until 1972. In 1972, he moved to Muny, New York. He became the rabbi of congregation based Israel, I'm sorry, congregation based Torah in my Torah in my [snorts] he stayed there for 24 years and during that time he also served as the executive vice president of the U and the rabbitic administrator of the U Kashras division. While he was in Muny in 1977, he founded a yeshiva named Shah Torah, which has grown into a major yeshiva in the New York area, both with a high the New York area, both with a high school division and a post high school division. And he served as the head of that yeshiva until 1997. And that's when he and his wife made aliyah and moved to Jerusalem. He continued to teach and write and in 2002 he was invited to become the rabbi of Beanness Hanasi the president's synagogue that is a synagogue in Raavia. that is a synagogue in Raavia. I had the privilege to be able to visit him there and to hear him speak there more recent years. Rabbi Wine was a magnificent speaker, spellbinding, sought after all over the world.
