What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Lazer Brody’s own words— taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

in the night [Music] enough from you my Lord and it's all good in the Lord [Music] with hashem's loving grace we're learning the first gate of the Orchid tonight and this is the Gate of arrogance arrogance and as they do bear with me because I'll be reading Parts in Hebrew this puts my mind in the right direction rather just reading straight translation because I'd like to stay exactly uh with no daylight between what we're learning and the author's intent there's a lot Hashem and we pray to Hashem that everything should be accurate and truth and should help us all get closer to Hashem because that is the whole purpose of our learning to get close tuition so we're now with the close tuition so we're now with the hashems loving grace learning the first gate of the works of sadikim the Gate of arrogance and we will be talking about arrogance and the reason that the author made this the first of the character traits and the first of the chapters it's because arrogance is the root of of any additional character flaws in other words if we could succeed in uprooting negative arrogance there's also positive type of arrogance we don't also positive type of arrogance we don't call it for Pride but we'll learn about that and then second half of the lesson if we can uproot native arrogance we've uprooted 90 of bad character flaws because this is the root of all character flaws and that's what the author explains the reason he began it's the most damaging of the negative character flaws so we have to learn how to avoid it and he says that this is this is actually this is hashem's coin Hashem Stamped Out this
