[singing] [music] [singing] [music] >> In chapter 4, they complete the miraculous crossing of the Jordan River while the waters stand up like a wall, the pillar that goes up to the sky. And what they do, they will ultimately set up two different 12-stone monuments as permanent memorials of the miracle. And that's the name of tonight's lesson, the 12 stones. So, as we do customarily say that passage, someone's following in in Hebrew and then translate it. Okay, I take responsibility for the translation, translate the way I understand it, and this after reading all the interpretations and publication, this is not just translation, but it's called p'shat. It's meaning, it's translation and explanation. It's not a Webster paper version Webster translation. Okay. [snorts] So, in verse 1 When the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan, Hashem said to Joshua, Okay, now, what we learn here, the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan, but the Kohanim, the priests, and the holy ark, they were still in the middle of the dry riverbed. Now, as long as the holy ark and the Kohanim were in the middle of dry riverbed, the walls the wall of water stood. It wouldn't crash down on them. They were there. So, what Hashem is talking as the all of the Israelites went up ashore on the west shore, but the the west bank of the Jordan, and he's giving a command to Joshua. He says like this. Okay, this is Hashem speaking to Joshua. And he says in Vayikchu lachem min ha'am shnei asar anashim ish echad ish echad mishivat.
