good evening ladies and gentlemen it is wednesday night at a new time 8 30 p.m and we are here to take you behind the bema i'm joined together with rabbi moscowitz and roberti and what an honor we have this evening to welcome dr leonard schleifer with us a legend not only in his industry a leader in the jewish community and a dear friend of our family and so so grateful on what is an extraordinarily busy time in general and busy day in particular for you that you have found a few minutes to be with us tonight dr schleifer thank you so so much it's dr schleifer thank you so so much it's good to be here thank you i want to just give a quick uh background although everybody knows um dr schleifer is the founding ceo of regeneron pharmaceuticals began in 1989 and very innovative company that has won all kinds of awards and recognition for science and innovation and maybe we'll get to also for being the best biotech pharmaceutical company to work for in the world has crafted an incredible culture at the company itself a company of thousands of employees uh today is fda approved for drugs that are healing people uh ilea for are healing people uh ilea for um amd which is the leading cause of blindness a drug for asthma and for dermatitis drug approved for certain types of cancers treatment for ebola which is waiting approval and of course very much in the news a drug right now in trial for um for uh covet 19 which the president just today credited for healing him that is not our topic for tonight and it's not why we welcome him i'm sure that's a a refreshing relief at least for this conversation for dr schleifer dr schleifer we have you on we've known you a long time
