I was 11 years old. I was in school. I had a rebbe, Reb Moshe Elinson. I'm a choshev Yid. Even as little kids we we realized that he was something special. And I must tell you, I can't remember anything he actually taught me. I remember he taught us Bava Kamma, he taught us Sukkah. That was a gemara he taught. But there's one story that has always remained with me and there I will never forget this story. He once called me outside the room, outside the classroom. Now, if you were called out, it was [music] generally to get pech. I was convinced I must have done something wrong, he was going to give me pech. And he says to going to give me pech. And he says to me, "Meyer, I need to ask you mechila." I didn't know what he wanted from me. I was just a 10-11 year old child. He said, [music] "I need to ask you mechila. Your name is Meyer Rappaport, but I called you Rap. Rap is a nickname. One is not [music] allowed to call somebody a nickname." I didn't know what he wanted. I just stood there silently and he says, "Please be mochel me." I said, "Okay, I'm mochel you." This was between me, him, and the Rebono shel Olam. No one else knew [music] about this story. No one else was witness to it. But Reb Moshe Elinson felt that if he said the word Rap, called somebody by that name, then he has to ask that little child mechila. Such an
