My friends, there's a story in the Torah [music] which is a little bit troubling to me. When Avraham and Sarah hear about the exciting news that they're going to have a child, so [music] Sarah speaks to herself and she says, "How is it possible? My husband's so old, I'm so old. [music] We're going to have a child?" And Hakadosh Baruchu retells what Sarah Imeinu says to Avraham with a little bit of a change and omits [music] the part about Avraham being old and just says that Sarah said about herself she's too old to have a child. Why did Hashem do that? [music] So Hazal tell us the reason is because Hakadosh Baruchu is meshaneh mipnei hashalom. There [music] should be shalom bayis between Avraham and Sarah. Now, Avraham and Sarah are in advanced age. You're talking about the greatest people that ever lived, talking [music] about the greatest marriage that ever was. Their shalom bayis was phenomenal. You really think that like just a flippant remark from Sarah Imeinu is going to [music] cause a rift in their shalom bayis? Not only that, Avraham Avinu himself said, "I'm too old to have children." So he knows that, he said it. Why would he [music] be upset at Sarah Imeinu that Hashem has to be meshaneh mipnei hashalom? [music] Hashem who is omed emes is going to change cuz he's afraid
