[Music] it's all good my lord tonight's lesson is entitled against all odds and we're going to talk about how divine direction takes place in situations of war and hostility now we talk about divine direction at wartime in times of hostility we transcend all logic we transcend all military strategy and it doesn't or any other type of intellect it doesn't make sense it's beyond nature especially the history of israel the history of jewish people it is beyond nature that the the military uh the military experts they don't understand anything in west point uh when they teach military history to the cadets uh that's part of it required learning for a u.s army cadet learning a bachelor's degree in in west point for his officers commission he has to learn military history american military world military history and they often say that uh there are laws that apply to the entire world but they don't apply to israel because all the wars in israel just don't make any sense don't make any sense and of course it doesn't make sense because divine direction is above logic and above nature and it's of course it doesn't make any sense now all our holidays look at our whole rhythm of life all the holidays are celebrations of hashem's miraculous divine direction especially during times of turbulence the miracles that led to the exodus from egypt the ten plagues the splitting of the red sea talking about a serious uh confrontation serious military confrontation when but pharaoh chased after the jewish people with chariots and arms and they didn't have any arms they had no way to protect themselves
