We're coming off of a sugiyah where we were discussing geneivas da'as and we got into a discussion regarding a variety of different locales as to how they would go about potentially buying meat from non-Jewish vendors. The assumption is in the variety of the cases for the most part that most of the butchers were Jewish. So, in some locales, they would make what they call a hachrazah, they would make a declaration and announcement on make a declaration and announcement on some days that they would sell treifos and neveilos to non-Jews. So, you would know on certain days that they were selling non-kosher meat to those non-Jews. On all the other days, the presumption was that the meat that was being sold was kosher. Because the presumption was that the meat was being kosher on those days, you were not allowed to sell treifos and neveilos to a non-Jew. At the same time, it was presumed that the meat that was being sold was kosher, the meat that was being sold was kosher, so you could buy from the non-Jews. Versus other locales, there was a scenario where they would not make any There was no announcement made, so because there was no announcement made, you really could not buy from those uh vendors because the presumption was that at times there was non-kosher meat.
