And we're going to talk about most specifically narrowed in on the issue of abuse in the form of withholding a get, refusing to participate in inequitable and unjust and unfair dissolution of a marriage but using the fact that the Torah only allows the dissolution of a marriage with the man giving his wife a get to use that for leverage or to extort or to hold a woman hostage or to try to receive certain benefits that are unjust or unfair and inequitable is simply intolerable. This week we'll begin reading the book of Shmos, the second book of the Torah. It's the story of the Jewish people's descent into Egypt and our experience with bondage, with slavery, with oppression.
