the days of the week by their English name Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. In Yiddish it's also Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. The only day of the week in Yiddish was Wednesday. But in Yiddish it became Mitwoch. Wednesday is the day of the week that was named after Jupiter, which was probably the at that time the most celebrated of the other desires. So for some reason in Yiddish they didn't want to call the Wednesday, so they called it Mitwoch. But the other days are named after Friday. So Friday is after Venus. Venus is a Friday. It's a female star. So it's Friday it's Friday talk and everything else. So it's really named after God you should God you should name. So how is it if it's a mitzvah say? So there are a number of difficulties here. One problem is that the Rambam himself in the safer on mitzvahs does not count this as a mitzvah say. Here we have the safer in the Minchat Chinuch and the safer Ikrim and in the Bnei Yissachar in the Beit Yissachar they all write a mitzvah say to call the month by its number. If you look in the safer on mitzvahs, not the Rambam, and not the Ramban count such a mitzvah. So where did the mitzvah go? One problem. Another problem is if it's not a mitzvah say and we're not supposed to call it January, February, March, etc. So how is it in the Biur Halacha? They took up the name Nissan and Iyar and Sivan. So good the Ramban says they called it Nissan because they wanted to remember the golus of Purim. But what about the mitzvah say in the Torah? In the safer Ikrim, Maimonides perek zayin he writes that mitzvah mitzvah she ain't say The Rambam says
