okay welcome everybody good morning i want to thank uh esther and charlie for welcoming welcoming our class into their home uh today's class um so i want to thank everybody for coming um and i guess i want to open this morning with an interesting um i guess you could call it a psychological or social experiment that i read a little bit about i'll share with you the experiment what took place and we'll try and think what took place and we'll try and think about what their what the results might be able to teach us and we'll see if we can compare it to something that the rabbis say so um the experiment was done where they brought in 100 people randomly men women from all different backgrounds and they had them play a game of monopoly not 100 at a time like two three people at a time and when they brought them in to play the game of monopoly before they started they said that they're going to randomly assign by the role of the dice different rules for different players different players so you came in you rolled the dice and if you rolled a certain number you got to play by a certain set of rules and if you rolled a different number you got to play by a different set of rules so for example some people who rolled a particular number got to uh roll two diced when they played the game or two die when they played the game while everybody else only got to roll one um they collected double the amount of money when they passed go instead of getting 200 they got 400 they can only earn certain properties on the board and other people could not buy every single
