What’s said in this shiur
The opening of this shiur, in The Yanuka — Rav Shlomo Yehuda’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.
The exile and the punishment of the exile Is not just what we see, being distant Not being redeemed and not yet having gone up to Jerusalem Rather the exile is that individuals think that they have attained the greatness of G-d Blessed is He They think they are well versed in his knowledge Blessed is He They think they already know of his commandants They think they know His Torah. They think they are quite satiated from His Torah. They are complaining of actions of tyranny within their hearts How did he do this, How did he do this, and why did he do this Forgetting the verse which states, "The Rock, whose deeds are perfect because all his ways are just, a faithful G-d, never false, true and upright he is" (Devarim32:4) With this its understood Why it's so important that we must constantly remind ourselves of the Exodus Because the world thinks that G-d Blessed is He Is here to satisfy them and to fulfill all their lusts And to give them all that they request And to do them good, and give them all their desires And this, being the main point of prayer But no one contemplates in their minds how we are actually servants of G-d. And this starts with the Mitzvah of loving Hashem, your G-d With all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your wealth even if it means you will die or you will lose your wealth, With every ounce of what a person has, he must love G-d Blessed is He
